Leadership & Skill Development

LEADERSHIP & SKILL DEVELOPEMENT

We are committed to not only providing our emerging leaders with full college scholarships, but also to ensuring that they have the leadership ability and practical skills needed to succeed in the job market and bring development to their communities.

Our emerging leaders are trained in advanced computer use, literacy and numeracy lessons, basic project management, financial management, entrepreneurship, leadership and ethics.

During the nine months probationary period and throughout their four years of university study, students also participate in our organizational and personal development retreats which are held bi-annually. Our emerging leaders spend a week in a select location with the Families Without Borders executive director, where they present the results of their previous six months of community service activities, plan for the next six months of volunteerism and receive practical education on integrity, time management, financial management and leadership.

Our emerging leaders are also required to do internships in the summers between academic years and are supported with resume writing, interview skills and employment strategies.
