COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

College Scholarships College Scholarship is at the heart of Families Without Borders’ work. Our current emerging leaders are at two universities in Sierra Leone: University of Makeni in Northern Province and Njala University in Southern Province.

We take great care in selecting our students, and choose those from humble backgrounds, with a strong preference for female and rural students. We select students nine months before the start of the academic year, so that we can ensure they meet our expectations, are aligned with our culture and are prepared for the university.

After securing college admissions, our students receive a four‐year university scholarship with room and board and health care, in exchange for maintaining a high GPA, participating in community service programs and meeting our skills and career development goals.

The program has massive impact and serves as the platform for a movement, which is able to deliver community service projects with true efficiency. All of our community service projects are designed and implemented by our emerging leaders.

Upon graduation, each fellow will pledge to pay for the tuition of a non-related, new emerging leader in the program.
